The purpose of this qualification is to increase learners’ knowledge and understanding of common childhood illnesses.

It will enable them to support the development and wellbeing of infants and children they support/care for.

Who is suitable?

The qualification is suitable for anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge of mental health problems, the factors that cause mental ill-health and the ways that mental health problems can be managed. The course is also suitable for those who already work in this area, anyone who wants to secure a job linked to mental health and anyone who wants to gain more knowledge for personal reasons.

This free course is split into 3 manageable units:

  1. Understand how to provide a safe and healthy environment for babies and young children
  2. Understand common childhood illnesses
  3. Understand health emergencies and specific health conditions in an early years setting

NCFE CACHE

  • Learners must be aged 19 or over as of the 31/8/2019
  • Learners must be living in England and have lived in the EU for the last 3 years
  • Learners cannot be on another government funded course of apprenticeship
